I used a Cateye bike computer device for years. Quite a few years ago, I switched to a Garmin 200 and really liked the way is functioned*. It worked great and still works good but the model was discontinued. After a few years, I was given a gift certificate to a local bike shop. I decided to get a newer Garmin model. I was considering the newer Edge Explorer. It seemed like a good fit for touring. The Bike Shop told me the Explorer was discontinued to make way for the Garmin Explorer 2 that was not yet available. They strongly recommended the Garmin Edge 530. I purchased the Garmin 530 and like it. It is not a touch screen and it has way more functions then I use, but is works great with the Varia Radar tail light. The hazard notifications and weather notification are a great plus.
It is nice to be able to look back at every ride and the statistics of the ride the Garmin has recorded.

*I was so impressed with the Garmin device that I bought a few shares in the Garmin company back in 2015. That investment has paid for every future Garmin device I will every purchase!
