The Garmin Varia device is now something that I do NOT like to ride without. A warning to vehicles approaching from the rear is given on the Garmin Device and a sound is emitted. The Red Light flashes in intensity as vehicles approach. I have noticed that vehicles give a little more 'room' when the Varia is being used. The new mounting is on the rack of the bicycles. The recommended position of the seat post is not an option on my two bicycles, however, the device functions satisfactorily.
